Mary Millar, born Irene Mary Wetton on 26 July 1936 in Doncaster, Yorkshire, was a distinguished English actress and singer. She began her stage career at 16, performing in pantomimes such as "Babes in the Wood" at the Empire Theatre in Sheffield. She went on to appear in various West End productions, including understudying Julie Andrews as Guinevere in the original Broadway production of "Camelot" in 1960.

In the 1990s, Millar gained widespread recognition for her role as Rose in the BBC sitcom "Keeping Up Appearances." She joined the cast in 1991, replacing Shirley Stelfox, and portrayed Hyacinth Bucket's younger sister, known for her flirtatious nature and revealing attire. Millar's performance added depth and humour to the character, contributing significantly to the show's success.

Beyond television, Millar's stage career was notable. She originated the role of Madame Giry in Andrew Lloyd Webber's "The Phantom of the Opera" in 1986, a performance that earned critical acclaim. She also played Mrs. Potts in the original London production of Disney's "Beauty and the Beast" in 1997.
